Transguard Group Reveals More than AED 250 Million in New FM Contracts

Share:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Business solutions provider Transguard Group has announced a record-setting AED 250 million in new contracts for its Facilities Management (FM) division; the wins include several prestigious partnerships with two of the largest property developers in the UAE.

“This is a strong start to our financial year, especially for our FM division but also across the business as a whole,” states Dr. Abdulla al Hashimi, CEO, Transguard Group. “The team’s performance over the last few weeks has been nothing short of exemplary and we anticipate even greater growth in the coming months.”

A new partnership with one of Dubai’s leading property developers was a key contract win: Mobilising this month, Transguard’s Facilities Management division is responsible for cleaning an iconic racing facility at the heart of the emirate with a team of up to 400 professionals. Meanwhile, Transguard’s consumer division, Transguard Living, has been selected to provide maintenance services to a gated community with luxurious Mediterranean and Moroccan-style villas. The three-year contract, which will see Transguard’s Consumer Management team working across more than 350 villas, runs until May 2025.

Providing soft FM services to one of the world’s largest and most famous malls was another highlight of the first quarter. The contract, which mobilises in November 2022 and will run until 2025, will see more than 800 staff deployed throughout the well-known location.

“Transguard’s FM team is proud to offer its best-in-class standards to these iconic locations,” says Saeed al Marzouqi, acting Managing Director, Transguard Group. “This growth in our portfolio is a direct reflection of Transguard’s professionalism and excellent service levels.”

Other noteworthy contracts include a major metro management company, a Turkish hotel chain, a prominent Emirati retail conglomerate, as well as a Dubai-based family-owned business with operations in trading as well as property development and management; Transguard has also been appointed by Dubai’s newest sports facility to provide cleaning services at its centre. Another win for the first few months of the financial year includes providing cleaning and MEP services to one of the UAE’s leading property developers for its newest community project, sales pavilion and popular food market.

With a team of more than 20,000 professionals covering more than 60 workstreams (including standard cleaning, housekeeping, MEP, home maintenance and more), Transguard is the largest facilities management provider in the UAE. Its Facilities Management operations are backed by a central command centre, call centre agents who are trained to understand and address user complaints and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) is used to help mobilise teams to deliver services effectively and efficiently. Available around the clock for scheduled and emergency callouts, consumer division Transguard Living, offers users a dedicated app for iOS and Android that makes it incredibly easy to review and schedule services, as well as take advantage of the latest offers and promotions.

A Year of Growth and Renewal

Share:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – While the previous year was unprecedented in practically every way imaginable, 2021 has resulted in significant growth and renewal for Transguard Group; the UAE’s premier business solutions provider has revealed that it has secured AED 2 billion in new and renewed contracts for the calendar year; Transguard’s financial year ends on 31st March 2022.

“No matter what Covid-19 threw at us, Transguard Group maintained an unwavering focus on our core values,” explained Dr. Greg Ward, Managing Director. “Because of this commitment to the well-being of our employees and the needs of our clients, 2021 has been an incredibly successful year of growth and renewal. Our portfolio across the business has grown in depth and scope, and in parallel, the size of our workforce has also increased.”

Earlier this year, Transguard embarked on an aggressive recruitment campaign that has so far seen the business solutions provider grow by 15,000 new employees. What’s more, Transguard embraced its responsibility for the residents and citizens of the UAE and embarked on an extensive vaccination drive that saw nearly 100% of its employees being double vaccinated by July 2021. With its workforce in place and eager to begin supporting the reopening of the UAE, each division of Transguard Group made significant strides in their respective industries:

Dominating significant headlines in 2021 was news of Transguard’s support for Expo 2020 Dubai, which is valued at AED 102 million in contracts and includes the deployment of more than 3,000 employees across 50,000 square metres of event space and 17 pavilions. Responsible for security, facilities management, hospitality, catering, guest experience, event management, logistics and more, the Transguard team has been supporting every aspect of the “World’s Greatest Show” since its opening in October.

Transguard Cash, a stalwart of the industry as well as the oldest business unit of Transguard Group, maintained its dominant market position and celebrated several milestones in 2021, including being named the exclusive partner for the provision of Cash Management Solutions at Expo 2020 Dubai and completing the installation of more than 5,300 Smart Cash Deposit Machines throughout the UAE. With a focus on digitalisation and technology, Transguard Cash continues to support the growth of the country as well as that of the industry. In December, Transguard Cash was also honoured with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Awards for Business, Business Innovation and Customer Excellence.

As the most established and recognised security provider in the UAE, Transguard Security Services experienced an overall revenue growth of 14% (including contract renewals valued at more than AED 72 million) and a workforce growth of 18% (20% of which is based in Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates). Selected to protect an impressive list of the nation’s landmarks and attractions, Transguard’s Security team introduced several new services, including the customised Quick Response Team (QRT) solutions at several key financial institutions; the new offering is an innovative blend of manguarding, mobile patrols, track and trace technology and various communication methods.

As the largest provider in the country, Transguard’s Facilities Maintenance (FM) division amplified the scope and reach of its already impressive portfolio with key government wins and contract renewals with the UAE’s most beloved and iconic brands. In addition, Transguard’s exemplary customer support efforts for Global Village were recognised and awarded by the ME Cleaning Hygiene & Facilities Awards earlier in the year. Other new contracts of note include the largest vertical farm in the Middle East, a large master community of the UAE’s largest property developer and the soft services contract for Gym Nation.

As the UAE made major strides in its efforts to return to “business as usual” in 2021, Transguard’s Manpower Services division provided key support every step of the way. From a Hospitality perspective, this included new work with one of the most recognisable resorts on The Palm-Dubai, F&B contracts for Expo 2020 Dubai and a renewal with one of the most popular hotel groups in the emirate. This growth was buoyed by new training for front of house staff, which was tailored specifically for Transguard clients and delivered at our Centre of Excellence. Demand for other manpower services, including warehouse staff and motorcycle drivers (the first contract for which is valued at more than AED 60 million) also sparked new business for Transguard in 2021; this includes the UAE’s largest hypermarket and a multi-national retail franchise operator based in Kuwait.

Workforce Solutions, Transguard’s unique end-to-end staffing solution provider, experienced growth of more than AED 150 million in new contracts, with industry-specific wins and consultancies topping the list of achievements; technology companies and cloud-based kitchens also offered new sectors for growth. Transguard’s Construction Services division provided crucial support for one of the most anticipated new residential properties on The Palm-Dubai, an innovative new transportation channel between Dubai and the nation’s capital and some of the newest data centres in the region.

Transguard’s Aviation division has kept pace with the rapid recovery of the country’s travel industry, winning multiple noteworthy transportation, catering and airport support services contracts and renewing important agreements with one of the UAE’s most significant airlines, travel services providers and airports. Earlier in 2021, Transguard announced the full mobilisation of the Emirates Chauffeur fleet, which includes not only Business Class chauffeur service, but also the airline’s First Class and Multi-Purpose Vehicle chauffeur services. This year also saw Aviation continue to strengthen its relationships in Abu Dhabi; in April Transguard revealed that it had achieved “Diamond Partner” status in the Alwatani programme from Etihad Airways. Most recently, Transguard was awarded first place at the RTA Vendor Awards, which was in recognition for the steady growth of its partnership with the government entity.

Transguard Delivery also enjoyed significant growth in 2021, particularly with high profile logistics aggregators as well as by providing support for premium delivery services. This dynamic division of Transguard also renewed a number of contracts, including that for mishandled baggage delivery, home check-in services and more.

Systems Integration, the technology arm of Transguard Security Services, used 2021 to deepen its relationship with existing clients and grew its portfolio with significant new wins with both international and local businesses. Offering robust, 360-degree solutions with comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contracts, Systems Integration is poised for major growth in the new year.

Following along the lines of technology and innovation, the biggest news out of Transguard’s consumer division, Transguard Living, focuses on its revamped its website, www.transguardliving.com, as well as the launch of a dedicated app for both iOS and Android. Transguard Living customers can now search, book and pay for services using both platforms, as well as chat with the friendly helpdesk team while making enquiries about the business’ fix, clean and move services.

In July 2021, Transguard officially opened a dedicated vehicle workshop that already completes more than 400 jobs each month; what’s more, Transguard is now offering its expertise in Transportation to other companies in Dubai. To support the growth of Transguard’s own employee base, as well as that of its transportation customers, the business solutions provider has also recently expanded its fleet of 15- and 71-seater busses.

Taste of Home, Transguard’s catering division, won significant new contracts in key sectors – including the government (under which they’re feeding an impressive 1,400 staff each day), logistics and educational institutions – as well as renewed multiple significant contracts with existing customers. In response to popular demand, Taste of Home also expanded its product offering to include a variety of new items, including chilled sauces for sale at retail and wholesale outlets.

With such a significant footprint across multiple industries, Transguard is also keenly aware of its impact on the environment and under its CSR programme, the company proactively seeks out and engages in multiple sustainable initiatives. In 2021, Transguard has produced 1,223 MWh of clean energy through a dedicated solar power project, saved 3 million kWh across its own property portfolio and another 3.8 million kWh across its client portfolio by recycling more than 205,000 bags of waste. In addition, the business solutions provider saved nearly 22 million gallons of water across its entire property portfolio and recycled 14 million gallons of grey water. For this and its other initiatives, Transguard achieved the Dubai Chamber CSR Advanced Label.

“Our team has actively demonstrated unparalleled dedication during these dynamic times, and their hard work has paid off in so many ways,” concluded Dr. Ward, adding: “I’m proud of where Transguard has been and  where we’re going, and I am very much looking forward to revealing what’s next for us in the new year.”

Transguard Group Reveals Upskilling of
More than 35,000 Employees

Share:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Leading business solutions provider Transguard Group has revealed that four years after launching its Centre of Excellence, more than 35,000 employees have so far received cross-platform training and upskilling opportunities.

“Our purpose-built Centre of Excellence is the heart of our training programme, and key among its initiatives is continual cross-training for our site-based employees,” says Greg Ward, Managing Director. “Offering every member of our team an equal opportunity to grow their career is a cornerstone of our human resources strategy; empowering our employees with diversified skill sets enables us to better serve the UAE.”

Multi-skill training takes place across the entire business, particularly in Transguard’s manpower and aviation divisions, where more than 11,000 and 4,000 employees respectively have completed courses in a diverse array of subjects, including technical skills, customer service and others.

“Offering multi-skill training in other disciplines opens up new career pathways for our workforce. We have a gratifying number of employees who join us in entry level positions but work their way up to more skilled roles, both at site and in our headquarters. For example, employees who join us as unskilled labour can take our free skills training and English courses and eventually qualify to join the ‘Fix’ team of Transguard Living, our consumer home services division,” Ward explains. “With an incredibly broad training programme that applies across all of our business units, this is just one among many upskilling opportunities that we offer our employees.”

Most notable was Transguard’s continued focus on training even during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when more than 1,500 employees from across the business were specifically cross-trained in Facilities Management to help support the company’s disinfection and sanitization programme. In addition, 60 former Housekeepers have recently transitioned onto Transguard’s Security team after completing their SIRA certification and Transguard’s own rigorous training programme.

“The need to pivot and adapt during the global pandemic was not unique to Transguard, but we are exceptionally proud of the fact that during this time we safely cross-trained more than 5,000 employees to better support the country’s recovery,” Ward concludes. “Particularly with high-profile events like Expo 2020 Dubai on the very near horizon, our team is more than prepared to continually set the bar for business excellence, customer satisfaction and passionate support for the UAE.”

Transguard Group Pilots Health Seminars for its Site-Based Employees

More than 1,000 employees of the business solutions provider have attended the free sessions since the programme’s launch earlier this year

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Leading business solutions provider Transguard Group has revealed that a new health initiative aimed at proactively educating its site-based employees has so far impacted more than 1,000 employees since its inception in May 2021.

“Caring for our healthy, happy workforce is the cornerstone of our success,” said Greg Ward, Managing Director, Transguard Group. “It has been exceptionally gratifying to see how well the sessions are being received.”

The concept is simple but effective: A team of Transguard medical professionals holds regular seminars on a wide range of topics in the company’s accommodations, including how to manage lower back pain and gastric problems as well as common health complaints for both males and females, as well as other common issues. The free sessions have so far been held in four of Transguard’s largest accommodations and generally last for about an hour, including a question and answer session that allows attendees to pursue additional details on the topics covered. Free eye check-ups are also on offer.

So far, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from both employees and senior management: “These sessions give our employees immediate access to information they may not know how to seek out on their own,” Ward points out, adding that “we’re proud that we’ve taken the initiative to proactively provide these opportunities as yet another demonstration that we are fully dedicated to upholding our duty of care for our employees.”

In addition to future health seminars being planned across other Transguard accommodations, a second dedicated medical facility in Jebel Ali is expected to open before the end of the year.

Transguard Group security guard “goes viral” on social media when he was filmed rescuing a dehydrated gazelle

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – For Transguard Group security guard Ajit Jalhari, it was just another day at work, but for the rest of the UAE it was a heartwarming reminder that all life is precious: When Jalhair encountered a dehydrated gazelle during his daily patrol of one of Dubai’s most exclusive golf courses he immediately gathered the creature into his buggy and gave it water in an attempt to revive it. This selfless act was captured in a video by a resident of the area and subsequently shared by Lovin’ Dubai on social media, resulting in an overwhelming outpouring of positivity and well wishes for the unassuming security guard.

“It is amazing and good,” said Jalhari, a native of Nepal who has worked for Transguard Group for six years. “Thanks to everyone for seeing this video and the person who posted it…I really appreciate it.”

“We know that our employees consistently go above and beyond, so it is a joy to see the response this video has received,” said Greg Ward, Managing Director.

For Tim Mundell, Transguard Group’s Chief Security Officer, Jalhari’s actions are a prime example of what it means to be a security guard. “Our security teams do so much more than we give them credit for and Ajit’s actions are just one such example. His act of kindness has touched so many people and demonstrates that a small act of compassion and care can go so far,” Mundell said during a recognition ceremony. ”He has displayed exactly what it means to be a Transguard security guard and we are incredibly proud of how he has represented the company.”

During the ceremony, which was held in Transguard headquarters, Jalhari was presented with a certificate recognizing his exemplary service for the UAE and its wildlife, as well as the news that Mundell was naming him Employee of the Month for Transguard Group Security.

For Jalhari, who is still coming to grips with his sudden fame, caring for the gazelle was second nature, something that he believes should be second nature for all of us: “For everyone, we need to help everyone who is having problems, whether they are human beings or animals,” he declared, adding, “That is good for everybody and that will save the world.”

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Thanks to a dedicated in-house team working around the clock and through weekends and holidays, Transguard Group is pleased to announce that as of today, all eligible employees in its management offices have either been fully vaccinated or are in line to receive their second jab.

“Five months ago today we announced our first vaccination milestone, which was the provision of vaccines for 16,000 employees; three months later we announced that we had successfully provided more than 60,000 vaccinations for our employees,” explains Greg Ward, Managing Director, Transguard Group. “Today, I am pleased to reveal that 100% of Transguard HQ employees are in the vaccination process, with 94% of our eligible site-based staff also fully vaccinated, with the remainder scheduled for their final shots over the next few weeks.”

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2 May 2021: Transguard Group has today announced a profit of AED 32.1 million and revenue of AED 1.87 billion for FY 20/21; the UAE’s leading business solutions provider also revealed AED 2.1 billion in new and renewed business.

“In a year otherwise dominated by uncertainty and prediction-defying challenges, Transguard reliably provided insightful solutions and best-in-class client support,” explained Greg Ward, Managing Director, Transguard Group. “Our innate ability to adapt to this new business landscape was key in achieving a strong end to a difficult year.”

One of the first consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic was the closure of airports, both in the UAE and abroad. Quickly followed by a country-wide lockdown, many Transguard clients were forced to make the difficult decision to pause or cancel contracts. This meant more than 12,000 employees were idle almost overnight, none of whom could be repatriated to their home countries due to flight restrictions. Driven by a deep concern for their wellbeing, Transguard ramped up its already robust welfare initiatives and for the next six months dedicated itself to ensuring that these idle staff were provided with food and accommodation until they could be put back into the workforce or returned home.

However, buoyed by multiple strategic wins that were driven by innovation and customer service, Transguard’s team successfully fought back against the economic ravages of the global pandemic to bring the company back into profitability by the end of the financial year.

In addition to deploying more than 44,000 employees every month during the height of the Covid-19 crisis and deploying a further 500 employees in a variety of roles to the UAE’s field hospitals, Transguard’s Facilities Management division also landed a prestigious contract with a global leader in the Oil & Gas sector, grew its retail portfolio with new two new malls in Abu Dhabi and renewed its contract with Global Village for the 11th consecutive year.

Transguard’s Security Services division expanded its already sizeable reach by becoming the sole security provider for the country’s largest bank, as well as by taking on responsibility for the substantial Residential, Hospitality and Entertainment portfolios of the UAE’s largest property developer.

After two successful decades, Transguard Cash continues to lead the industry with a continual stream of innovations, including new ATM and cash sanitisation services. The 2020 launch of the Transguard Pay kiosk network (which gives Transguard’s users easy, convenient access to top up their mobile credit or even send money to their families in their home countries) served to underscore the division’s strong welfare credentials.

With the exponential growth of the logistics sector in 2020, Transguard’s Manpower portfolio likewise expanded to include contracts with all major supermarket chains in the UAE, as well as agreements to provide manpower for warehousing, delivery services and more for these essential service providers.

As the UAE’s hospitality sector gradually opened, Transguard was awarded the framework for multiple hotels of a major regional hotel chain; meanwhile, Transguard Delivery began offering home check-in services for Emirates’ passengers in Dubai. Transguard has also continued its support of Expo 2020 Dubai with the announcement of contracts with seven pavilions.

Transguard’s Aviation and Logistics division also announced significant contracts with both Emirates and Etihad Airways: Under the first, Transguard is the exclusive provider of chauffeur services for Emirates’ Business, First and Multi-Passenger Vehicle fleets. Meanwhile, Transguard’s contract to support Etihad Airways with loaders, fork lift operators and other designations was extended by an additional three years; this qualifies the business solutions provider as a Diamond Partner in the airline’s Alwatani programme.

Meanwhile, Transguard never wavered from its commitment to the welfare of its employees and in January announced an all-encompassing initiative to vaccinate 95% of its workforce before the end of March. By facilitating more than 78,000 vaccinations by the end of the financial year, Transguard surpassed its prior commitment.

“If we learned anything during the pandemic it is to keep our eyes on innovation and a fierce focus on customer satisfaction,” Ward concludes. “We will not lose our momentum as we continue to support the UAE as it bounces back stronger than ever.”

Partner in the airline’s Alwatani programme.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Transguard Group, the UAE’s leading business solutions provider, today announced it has deepened its existing relationship with Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways with a three-year extension to its current contract.

“For the past three years, Transguard Group has been supporting Etihad Airways with loaders, fork lift operators, drivers, cargo agents and agents specialised in assisting passengers with restricted mobility (PRM),” explains Greg Ward, Managing Director, Transguard Group. “This strong partnership has grown organically, and the new contract will see bus drivers deployed to Abu Dhabi over the next few months.”

With the expansion of the contract, Transguard has also achieved “Diamond Partner” status under Etihad’s Alwatani programme. Established last summer, Alwatani ensures that the airline is supported by UAE businesses that are actively committed to the local economy. “Diamond Partner” is the most elite tier of the programme.
